Ernakulam North police have arrested a man who stole gold ornaments from a House at Ayyappankavu Powerhouse Road in Ernakulam. The arrested has been identified as 38-year-old Niyas, son of Abdul Samad, a native of Mukkam in Kozhikode. At around 4 pm on Thursday, when the family had gone to the ration shop, the accused opened the door with a key placed on top of the grill near the front door and stole seven and a half sovereigns of gold ornaments kept in the cupboard. Following the complaint, the accused was arrested following an investigation. Cases are pending against him at Ernakulam Central Station and Malappuram. Further steps are being taken.
