Seven people, including women, were arrested with 15 kg of ganja in Ambalamed

The arrested were identified as Jyothis(22),Jyothis Bhavan,Thottumugham,Karunagappally,Kollam, Akshay Raj(24),Kizhakkedath House,Mamala,Thiruvankulam,Ernakulam,Sreelal(26),Valiyavila Puthenveetil,Sasthamkotta,Kollam,Harikrishnan(26),Mannur Ayyath Veetil,Sasthamkotta,Kollam,Dileep Kumar @ Boxer Dileep(27),Meppanath,Ochira,Megha Cheriyan(21), Mavelikkara,Alappuzha,Silpa Syam(19),Velangatt Tharayil, Krishnapuram,Kayamkulam,Alappuzha.

The Gunja mafia from Balangir district of Odisha bring Gunja to Ernakulam in lorries via Tamil Nadu with vegetables and groceries.The ganja delivered in this way is given to the needy in packets of two kilograms each. They are the links of a big gang that brings ganja to Kayamkulam, Mavelikara in Alappuzha district, Karunagapilalli and Shastamkota in Kollam district.

According to the confidential information received by Kochi City Police Commissioner K. Sethuraman IPS, the accused were arrested  by Ambalamedu Inspector, Lal C. Baby, Sub-Inspector, Raji P.P, A.S.I. Ajayakumar, Raj.V. Varghese, and DHANSAF team led by Narcotics Assistant Commissioner K. A. Abdul Salam on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner T. Biju Bhasakar.
