Pink Police Patrol

Pink Police Control Room&rdquo was established in Kochi City on 25-11-2016 for extending the assistance of Women Police to women and children to ensure their safety and security. A Pink Control Room is operating at police Control Room with automated DIAL-1515 system and 4 units of Pink Patrol teams ( 2Etios Car and 2 Maruthi Omni ) were deployed from 7.30 am to 2.00 pm as Ist shift and 2.00 pm to 8.30 pm in 2nd  shift, in the major locations in Kochi City where the presence of women is high, mainly near Colleges , Schools, Bus stands, Railway Stations etc. In addition to this, Vanitha Help Line ( Number  1091) is also functioning at Control Room round the clock  for providing services to Women and Children during night. A total of 36 Women Police Officers were given training related to Automated Dial 1515 system, nature and duties of Pink Patrol, Driving practice etc. Four vehicles with call signs PPV-I, PPV-II, PPV-III and PPV-IV are centered at Enakulam, Thrikkakara, Fortkochi and Thripunithura respectively. The Pink Patrol vehicles are equipped with GPS communication system, Camera surveillance, Beacon lights and Public alarming system and it is manned by 4 WCPO&rsquos including the driver. Now, Pink Control Room is having a strength of 26 Women Police Officers including SI-1, ASI-1, WCPO-24.
