Maradu Police Station


The Maradu Police Station was established on 2013 by bifurcating the station limits of Panangadu Police Station and Hill Palace Police station as per the GO Rt No. 605/2013/Home dated 7 th March 2013 and declared the building No.XX/137, Maradu Municipality, Kanayanur Taluk as Maradu Police Station and started functioning from 11 th March 2013. The station was inaugurated by Sri. K Babu, former Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries, Excise and port, presided by Adv.T K Devarajan, former Chairman of Maradu Municipalityin presence of Sri.Tony Chammany, Mayor Kochi, Sri.K Padmakumar IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kochi range, Sri. K G James IPS, DIG of Police and District Police Chief Kochi City, Smt. Ajitha Nanda Kumar, Vice Chairman Maradu Municipality, sri.T Gopala Krishna Pillai, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kochi City, Sri. P K Raju, Councilor Maradu Municipality.
.Maradu police station is inaugurated on 11.03.2013
     The station coming under Thrikkakara Sub division and Ernakulam Town South Circle office.  M Suajthan Pillai, is now handling the charge of SHO, His phone number is 9497980421Total 53 police personnel are working in this police stations including SI -5, GSI/GASI/Sr.CPO-8, GSr.CPO/CPO - 31, WCPO - 9, DVR-1. Totaly 8 Janamythri beat are in this station.

Important Festivals and worship places

The famous festival in Maradu is the '"Thalappoli Maholsavam", otherwise known as "Maradu Vedikkettu" or "Marattil Kottaram Baghavathy Kshethram." It is usually in February–March. It is the biggest "Fire Works" in Ernakulam district

Maradu Kottaram Temple

Maradu Kottaram Bhagwathy temple situated in Maradu at very near to Ernakulam Kundannoor Junction. Maradu Kottaram was the summer house of the Kings of Cochin in ancient times. The main deity of the Kottaram temple is Bhagavathy.

The Bhagavathy (Bhadrakali) faces west, and poojas are offered twice in a day. The sub deities in Maradu Kottaram Bhagavathy temple are Shasthavu, Nagaraja, Gandakarna, Ganesha and Bramharakshas.

Maradu Kottaram Bhagavathy temple is famous for the amazing and beautiful fire works performed during the annual festival. The Kottaram Bhagavathy temple utsavam(Festival) is called Thalappoli. The Maradu Kottaram temple festival is organized by two teams of the temple namely Vadakke Cheruvaram and Thekke Cheruvaram and they unite together and make the festival a memorable experience.

St. Mary Magdalene Church Maradu Moothedam

The St Mary Magdalene Church is a famous church coming under the Archdiocese of Verapoly in Moothedam, Kerala, India. Mary Magdalene is the patron saint of the church. This parish constitutes many substations such as Little Flower church Kundannoor, St. Antony's church, St. Martin de Porous church etc. The tomb of the Servant of God George Vakayil is situated in the church cemetery. The Death Anniversary of Fr. George Vakayil is observed by the Church as a day of remembrance on 4 November of every year. Thousands of devotees participate in The "Nerchasadya" and Holy Mass and on that day. Fr. George Vakayil was declared as Servant of God on September 1, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalene Church Maradu Moothedam by Metropolitan Archbishop, His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Francis Kallarakkal.
